As our Church we are always excited and thrilled when Advent and Christmas comes around in the liturgical cycle. Christmas reminds us that our God is not a distant god but one who loved us so much that he sent his only Son to live among us and so we are invited into a personal relationship with him.
This year as usual we have some wonderful events and services planned and we would be thrilled if you could come to some or all of them.
This Advent our services include:
Sunday December 10 – Second Sunday of Advent – Kiama at 9.30 am and Jamberoo (Shared Meal Service) at 6.15 pm
Sunday December 17 – Third Sunday of Advent – Kiama at 9.30 am
Sunday December 24 – Fourth Sunday of Advent – Kiama at 9.30 am
We are very aware the life is not suspended during this Christmas season..
Christmas-time is for many a season where the messages of peace, love, hope and joy are difficult to imagine let alone live out.
Our first Blue Christmas service here, drew people from as far away as Wollongong and the Southern Highlands and it has since become an annual event with support from all the local churches.
This quiet Christmas service honours the difficult space that some people inhabit especially at Christmas. In this hour long service there is opportunity for people to sing or simply meditate meditate, light a candle for themselves or others, be still and know that you are not alone. It is also a space where participants may find a glimmer of hope for the future.
